Choosing the Right Bed Size for Married Couples

There are a few factors to consider when switching to a larger bed size. How many people are going to sleep on the bed is just one of the most important factors to consider. Doesn't take a genius to realize that a Twin bed is obviously too small for a couple to sleep in. A couple will have to choose between a Full, Queen or King Sized bed. Let us first take a look at the Full Sized bed.

Full Size beds are also known as "Double" and the mattress measures 54" Wide x 75" Long. Full-Sized beds give teens and college students the extra space they need to sleep more comfortably. The sheets cost way less than Queen or King Size bedding and a Double bed fits in just about any room. However, it is not that comfortable for some couples to sleep in. The little space they have in between makes this uncomfortable for couples to move around at night. Although it gives couples a great excuse to cuddle because of the size, it will eventually make couples feel a little cramped. Another disadvantage is the length. It is only 75" Long and will leave taller individuals with their feet hanging off the bed, which is not so great during the cold winter nights.

Chair Bed Twin

A Queen Sized mattress measures 60" in Width and 80" in Length. It measures 6" inches more in Width and 5" inches more in Length than a Double bed. Queen is the most popular bed in homes today. It gives the extra space and length that a Twin or Full bed does not give. It also gives the couple more room to move around in during sleep and the size is not too large to keep couples apart. The disadvantage is the price of the bedding. It costs a lot more to purchase a Queen Bedding Set than a Full Bedding Set. It also has the disadvantage of being too small for parents who have kids that crawl into bed with them at night.

A King Sized mattress measures 76" Wide x 80" Long. It measures 16" more in Width than the Queen. The King bed has the advantage of having all the extra room and space to move around in. Also, parents can still sleep comfortably when kids crawl into bed with them at night. The big disadvantage is the bed being too large to fit in many bedrooms. You will need a larger bedroom to fit such a large piece of furniture. Also, King Sheets are much harder to find and cost more expensive than any other size of bedding.
